I joined the lab in late 2014 as a PhD graduate student to work on a project on transdifferentiation of fibroblasts to cardiomyocytes. This amazing phenomenon where skin cells (fibroblasts) can be programmed directly into heart cells (cardiomyocytes) holds a great potential for far-reaching and impactful clinical significance in the future treatment for cardiovascular disease. The possibility of translating my research into the clinical setting is what gets me excited and keeps the fire burning in my belly. Since completing from my PhD, I am now aspiring to be a successful entrepreneur, to create a positive impact to society. Outside of the lab, I spent most of my time with my wife. I enjoy reading, playing computer games and travelling to different part of the world to experience different cultures and broadening my perspective of the world.
